For those with a love for leather-bound books, twinkies and white russians

Do you always associate outdoor theatres on the green with old, classic love inspired films? Thanks to plenty of corny rom-coms, I do.  But I think that may change with my first pop-up screen experience.

Combining the experience of the cinema and that of a  music festival, Dave Leydon is bringing Pop-Up Screens to London to entertain with viewings of Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgandy, The Big Lebowski and Ghostbusters.

“It’s just an opportunity to have a good night out at the park with a can of cider,” explains the recent uni grad who loves creating a buzz around new events and challenges.

“I’ve seen a couple been done and I thought I could do it better.”

So, he’s taking over Ravenscourt Park in Hammersmith for the May Bank Holiday weekend and is inviting all those who are bored of paying to have their kicks stuck to the multi-screen cinema carpet, to enjoy three awesome and individual cult movies with beverages and treats.

There will be a fully stocked bar, hot yummy popcorn and your choice of Tucker’s Exotic burgers, which include meats of buffalo, ostrich, sprinbok, wild boar, and wildebeest.

Join the screenings with your friends at £7  per night or snag a  season ticket for all three nights at £18. The doors will be opening at 7pm each night.

This is Dave’s first time planning a cinema pop-up and  he claims to not be feeling any anxiety over the plans just yet, “in a weeks time it will probably hit me!”

If the weather agrees, everything is in line for a great night in the park. So round up your blankets and lawn chairs for a evening of open-air cinema!
